Location: The Country House –Winter Garden, Florida

Date of Visit: 09/17/2017

Welcome to restaurant #84 on Florida Stuffed. I visited Winter Garden, Florida today for the Country Kitchen. I received a few recommendations on this place recently, and I want to add more breakfast to the editorial, lots more. I will be honest, this review will be a little more blunt than usual. The restaurant was easy to locate, and it was a very busy place too. I heard it was popular and the crowd inside would agree. My visit here lasted less than one hour but I left pretty well fed. This restaurant has a very down home atmosphere despite how busy it was.

I am happy I am getting more recommendations the further this editorial progresses. I need to know where people like to eat, no matter where it is. The restaurant is spacious and I thought there was no parking available but there was plenty behind the building. It was relatively easy getting a table and service was good. Expect to find a lot of traditional American style breakfast items on the menu as well as lunch.

Accessibility: The County House is located on West Colonial Drive (SR-50) less than two miles west of SR-429 (Tolls) in Winter Garden, Florida. Traffic was moderate around my arrival time of 1130AM, no issues parking. Parking may look taken up initially but there is additional parking at the back of the restaurant.

Customer Service: My company and I were greeted upon entry. It was very busy and there was only one table open, while another was waiting to be cleaned so we took the first table available. My server was friendly and checked on us regularly. Our orders were brought out in approximately twenty minutes. Open seating is available.

Dating Scene: Breakfast and lunch are good for low key dates here. Keep in mind the restaurant is only open from 6A-2P. The restaurant is family friendly as well and can hold larger sized groups. Despite the background noise, it was still easy to enjoy the meal and the conversation.

Lets Get to the Menu: On this visit, I ordered steak and eggs which included a 10 ounce strip steak (medium well) with two eggs (scrambled), home fries and a biscuit. You can choose home fries, or hash browns. Also, the biscuit is among the choices of toast or English muffin. The steak was okay, I think the flavor was not there for me because of the overall temperature of the food when I came out. My guest had ordered the French toast platter, which included slices of French toast, eggs (over easy I believe), sausage links and hash browns. Our bill came up to approximately $28.00 before tip. Usually I am not too critical on the food, but I must admit I was a little disappointed in a way. My food seemed very…room temperature when it was brought out to me on all items. I did note the food took approximately twenty minutes, but I am left wondering if it was ready before that and not retrieved in good time. The prices on the menu were very reasonable. You will find other breakfast items, which is what I really focused on. Two people can spend up to $35 in here if you do add ons to your meal, but you can definitely keep it under the $30 range if you like a simpler experience. Prices were reasonable here.

Extras: You are near the Winter Garden shopping district and SR-429 (Tolls).

Cleanliness: No issues to report.
